Tomato FAQs

When is the best time to plant tomatoes in East Texas? 
Late February through early March so you can build strong roots to help the plant survive when the temperatures heat up. But you'll need to be ready for a freeze. 

Can I grow tomatoes in East Texas clay? Yes --- but if you're new to gardening in the region, raised beds and containers can help you win at growing tomatoes.  The ebook explains how. 

How often should I fertilize? Not randomly. You'll start with the right soil and then give your tomatoes consistent feeding.  The guide breaks down how simple that can be.

 

What varieties grow best here? Heat-tolerant, disease-resistant varieties do best.  

How long does tomato season last here? You can have a great spring and fall crop if you time things right.
